Today we are talking about 5 creepy but cool places that you can visit in Canada (when the pandemic is over). I personally love to explore fun places when I travel, I am not one of those people who can sit by the beach for an entire vacation. I’m also fascinated by creepy or weird things, even though I have a very low tolerance for horror. So, without further adieu, let’s talk about some creepy but cool Canadian locales!

Since we can’t travel, I’ve naturally been thinking constantly about travel. What I have been realizing is that a lot of my favourite places include what most people would call “tourist traps”. If you don’t know, tourist traps are defined as “a crowded place that provides entertainment and things to buy for tourists, often at high prices”, and they are often looked down upon or avoided by the travel community. As someone who doesn’t really love crowds and hates being taken advantage of as a tourist, I totally get that. However, I think there are some great destinations and attractions that get overlooked by people who want to stay off the beaten path. By all means, go out and explore other things, but these are the five American ‘tourist traps’ that I think are worth the visit.

While travelling in LA last month, my Dad introduced me to Atlas Obscura, a website that tracks the most obscure places in the world. I went through the website to track all of the places I’ve been to and add in the ones that I want to visit. I thought it would be fun to write about the 5 weirdest and obscure places that I’ve travelled. There will be a part 2 where I talk about the 5 most obscure places on my bucket list.

If you know me, you know that one of my favourite things to do is go to a coffee shop. I’m all about grabbing a coffee while I do work, chat, and catch-up with friends or just take in the atmosphere of the coffee shop. Of course, I love Calgary’s coffee shop scene, but when I travel, my favourite thing to do is check out the coffee scene there. San Diego was no different.
